Down with the Sickness

ACtually, we're all better now, but we had a few days since last report where at least one of us was violently ill. Not sure what we had, but Janet was down for the count for a few days, and I was out for one. The kids seem to have weathered it better.

The knee is pretty much recovered from the arthroscopic meniscus repair in September, though I still have occasional pain with weather changes, kneeling, twisting. It is supposed to continue to improve.

AJ has been attending some classes for the past few months. In our former ward a bunch of people organized a co-op preschool a couple of hours a week. Each mom takes a week or two with groups of about 5 kids. AJ has loved it. After "school" on Thursdays he has been attending a gymnastics class, which he totally loves, and is quite good at (see video in a previous posting). There is only one class period left, and we're looking at how best to continue on.

Elizabeth is getting bigger and stronger all the time. Her legs now hold her up sometimes, for example. (no, not quite standing) If we fill the bathtub full enough, she likes to "swim". If I hold her head, the rest of her floats pretty well, and she kicks around and seems to really like it. We guess she's probably about 7-8 lbs now. (Our scale is not so accurate, and she's overdue for a pediatric visit, so we don't know for sure.) Unfortunately, she still wants to eat every 2-3 hours, and grunts/gurgles inbetween. No rest for the wicked, I guess. (Which covers me - I'm sure that "wicked" doesn't apply to Janet.)

We are grateful to receive news from family all over about the goings on in their lives. I hear unsubstantiated rumors about my single, hetero brothers successfully dating - woohoo! We are making plans to visit Utah for Christmastime if we can work out all the details. We had considered blessing Elizabeth while there, but are currently thinking it may be much easier to just do it here, despite the lack of nearby family.

Anyway, time sure flies.

No pictures? Guess we owe you some, right?
We are glad you are feeling better and that the kids were able to miss this go-around. We love you all lots. Take care of each other for you and for us.
